The Light Touch News Touch the Light.....

I was able to have my first solo photographic exhibition.......in Switzerland, on top of an alp! Why Switzerland you ask. Well my dear friend Hedy Stalder suggested it and made all the local arrangements with huge enthusiasm. I turned up after a long drive from Scotland, with all the prints ready and framed in the back of the car. Hedy had arranged a red London double-decker bus to bring guests from Basel, and a bagpipe player and highland dancer, Markus & Sandra Jenninger, to perform! There was a gentleman from the Swiss Friends of Robert Burns, Martin Jenni, who also spoke, and the event was launched by Alan Chalmers, the British Vice Consulate Basel. The gallery, Galerie Looberg, a converted barn on the top of a real alp, is owned by Paul Agostoni. Paul is an accomplished and widely exhibited sculptor, and the gallery contained many pieces of his work. The combination of worked stone, and images of the stones and shapes of the Scottish landscape, worked well. We had locally produced wine, cheese and bread, and the opening evening was an absolute delight and a very memorable occasion. All this was made possible by the hard work of Hedy and her daughter Isabelle, and our many friends from the village of Wallbach. You all know who you are, and that you have my gratitude for all the effort you expended to make this event happen. Galerie Looberg is located at: Paul Agostoni, Bildhauer, Looberg, CH-4315 Zuzgen.
