Car Totem
I was visiting the local scrapyard (yes looking for bits for the Land Rover!! - please call that 'recycling' !) and noticed this scrapped car atop a pile of crushed cars awaiting removal to the recyclers. I was struck by how totemic this scene was - the venerated car, our chariot - reverentially placed atop the pile like some worshipped being.
